Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will begin a two-day visit to Moscow on Monday to sign a nuclear power deal with Russia, according to Russian news agencies.

Moscow: Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will begin a two-day visit to Moscow on Monday to sign a nuclear power deal with Russia, according to Russian news agencies.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit told reporters a deal was inked last week, and it will be signed during Mubarak's visit.
Egypt may also announce a tender for the construction of its first nuclear plant. It is planning to revive its civilian nuclear programme, which was shut down in 1986 in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster.
Analysts say a nuclear power plant could be built on the Mediterranean coast within 10 years if foreign investment is secured.
Russia in one of the global leaders in providing nuclear energy know-how. It assisted Iran in its construction of the controversial Bushehr plant.
