Cairo: Egyptian police shot dead two African men on Tuesday as they tried to cross the border into Israel, security sources said.
They said that Egyptian police spotted three unarmed migrants during a patrol and shot at them after they fled toward Israel.
The two dead migrants were believed to be Sudanese.
"They refused to stop or obey the police officers, prompting police to open fire and causing two to be killed," one of the sources said.
Twenty-two migrants have been killed at the border this year, Egyptian security sources said.
