Manama: Egypt’s top general expressed his country’s full support for Bahrain, hailing the robust ties between the two countries and calling for bolstering bilateral cooperation.

General Abdel Fattah Al Sissi, Egypt’s army chief and defense minister, told Bahrain’s interior minister Shaikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa during his visit to Cairo that Egypt fully backed Bahrain on all the decisions taken by the kingdom to safeguard its security and reinforce its stability.

Al Sissi said that Egypt was ready to provide all the necessary support to Bahrain in the areas of security and stability under the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and their common interests, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

He added that he looked forward to widening and boosting cooperation between Manama and Cairo.

Shaikh Rashid, on an official visit to Egypt, lauded “the honourable stances by Egypt and its people” and commended the support of the Egyptian leaders and people to Bahrain, saying that it was a source of pride and appreciation.

The Bahraini minister was also received by the Egyptian prime minister Hazem Al Biblawi who said that he looked forward to the consolidation of security and stability in Bahrain.
