Security and medical officials say Egyptian border police have shot and wounded two African migrants while trying to illegally cross into Israel.
El-Arish: Security and medical officials say Egyptian border police have shot and wounded two African migrants while trying to illegally cross into Israel.
The two men, from Mali and Kenya, were trying on Sunday to cross the border about 5 kilometres south of the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, according to a security official.
He says a Sudanese woman and an Ivorian man also have been arrested south of the Rafah crossing while trying to cut through the barbed wire marking the Egypt-Israel border.
Imad Kharboush of El-Arish Hospital says the Kenyan man is in serious condition with a head injury.
