Tunisia: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, expressed the UAE's support to Tunisia in this transitional stage during a meeting on Wednesday with Tunisian interim President Fouad Mebazaa.

Shaikh Abdullah conveyed to Mebazaa the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Shaikh Abdullah expressed the UAE's desire to increase bilateral cooperation by encouraging investments in Tunisia to aid the country's new government in development. "Certainly this is a vital period for Tunisia, but thanks to the country's wise leadership and the patience of its people, this can be overcome. The UAE would like to affirm that it stands by the Tunisian people and the country so that it can meet the ambitions and aspirations of its citizens," said Shaikh Abdullah.

Difficult time

"This period requires all segments of the Tunisian population, as well as the country's allies to exert all efforts and help the nation overcome this difficult time."

Shaikh Abdullah also met Al Baji Caed Al Sebsi, Prime Minister of the temporary Tunisian government, and conveyed to him greetings of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the UAE's support.
