Damascus: A fire at a small clinic in northeast Syria on Sunday killed 25 people, mostly children, and injured about 30 others, state television said.

"Twenty-five civilians were killed and 30 were injured, mostly children, when a fuel tank exploded in the Maysalun clinic in Qamishli," the channel reported.

Qamishli, a major Kurdish city on the Turkish border, lies in Syria's northeast Hasakeh province.
