Ramallah: An Israeli air strike killed a Palestinian mother and daughter in the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
Four Israelis and over 30 Palestinians have died in 12 days of bloodshed that has spread from occupied Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank to Gaza and 1948 areas.
Palestinian medical officials said a pregnant woman and her three-year-old daughter living near the site were killed when their house collapsed.
Meanwhile, on the West Bank road leading to occupied Jerusalem, a Palestinian woman was shot dead at an Israeli checkpoint in her car.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to Gulf News, said the woman was shot after slamming her car break as she approached the Al Zaayem checkpoint which separates Jericho and the northern Jordan Valley areas. While Israeli police say the woman tried to detonate an explosive, she had her baby in the car, making the accusation very far-fetched. The woman, who has not yet been named, rushed out of her car after coming under fire to rescue her baby from the backseat.
Israeli occupation forces emptied several bullets into the woman.
“How could a woman carry out suicide attack with her baby? Israelis must admit to their crimes and stop lying,” said the sources.
“There were no signs of any explosion at the scene and no Israeli soldier was injured.” The eyewitnesses are urging Israel to release the video surveillance footage which is available at all checkpoints.
Meanwhile, in occupied East Jerusalem, a Palestinian Christian who was defending a group of veiled Palestinian women near the Chain Gate of the old city was shot in the leg and arrested by Israeli occupation soldiers.
Jewish colonists have stepped up their harassment of Palestinian women in occupied Jerusalem who have played a key role in defending Al Haram Al Sharif from Jewish raids.
Last week a Palestinian woman was shot dead after hitting the colonists who were trying to pull off her headscarf with her purse.
Over five Palestinians were killed over the weekend in incidents across the country, including occupied East Jerusalem, the occupied West Bank, Gaza and even 1948 areas.
Murdered Palestinians
At least 11 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, eight in occupied East Jerusalem, six in the occupied West Bank and four in 1948 areas over the past 12 days. Here are some of the victims:
