Ramallah: The Israeli regime has allocated four hours each day for Israeli colonists to access Al Haram Al Sharif, forbidding the entry of Palestinians entirely.

The new restrictions allowing Jews to enter and pray at Al Haram Al Sharif from 7am to 11am is unprecedented. Israeli occupation forces have recently tightened restrictions on Palestinians entering the compound, particularly refusing the entry of women, who have been effectively blocking intrusions by Jewish colonists to the holy Muslim site.

The women, known as Al Murabiteen (defenders), will not be allowed within 100 metres from the gates of Al Aqsa mosque during the hours allocated for the colonists to enter.

After 11am, Palestinian women can only enter Al Haram Al Sharif after they leave their identity cards with Israeli occupation police at the entrances.

If police suspect them of any suspicious activities, they can face a lifetime ban from entering the mosque and possible deportation from Occupied Jerusalem.

Jordan is the official custodian of the holy shrine, but Israeli occupation forces have also been targeting civilian guards who work for the Jordanian government to protect the mosque.

At least 10 guards have been banned from entering Al Haram Al Sharif.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is calling for an emergency summit of Muslim countries to discuss recent Israeli aggression at Al Haram Al Sharif. It says it will also launch a diplomatic campaign asking its embassies abroad to protect Al Haram Al Sharif.
