Ramallah: Israelis have killed 180 Palestinians, including 21 children, this year, the International Relations Department at the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) announced yesterday.

In a report called ‘A nation under occupation', the department said that Israeli forces have arrested 3,300 Palestinians during the same period and uprooted a total of 18,764 trees, mainly olive trees.

The report highlighted a sharp increase in attacks by colonists on mosques and churches in the occupied territories. In all, six mosques and a church have been vandalised or set on fire this year.

Israel has demolished 495 houses in the Palestinian Territories, expropriated vast tracts of private land and approved the construction of 26,837 new colonist housing units in Palestinian Territories, including 1,664 homes in occupied East Jerusalem.

Humiliation

The opening of the Shu'afat Crossing, which segregates more than 60,000 Palestinian residents in occupied East Jerusalem, has become a glaring instance of Israeli oppression. The report said that Palestinian travellers are humiliated by the Israelis at the crossing while Israelis have the freedom to travel in occupied Jerusalem.
