Abu Dhabi: The UAE has always stood by its word in supporting the Egyptian people during these historic and difficult times, said an Egyptian official.
Tamer Mansour, Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE, said that the statement issued by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, further reaffirms the UAE’s stand by the Egyptian people. Mansour said that Shaikh Abdullah’s statement emphasises the UAE’s continuous keenness to further bolsters its relations with the Egyptian government and people in various fields.
Mansour said that the UAE’s stand, reflected in the statement, will usher in a new phase of bilateral relations that will be raised to even higher levels that complement the two nations’ historic ties. He said that this new phase will provide both countries with strategic security, and mutual and permanent developmental benefits after a dark year in which certain individuals have tried to distance Egypt from its brotherly countries in the Arab world and region.
Mansour indicated that these relations will be immediately restored to normalcy, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment, and coordination in political and strategic matters pertaining to regional issues of mutual concern.
Mansour pointed out that during that dark year, the UAE had never abandoned the Egyptian people. He said that the UAE, with great wisdom and vision, continued to reaffirm that its bonds with the Egyptian people are much too strong and deep to be influenced by trivial matters and hatred that originated during that period. Mansour said that such a stance by the UAE leadership reflects their belief that this period was simply a dark cloud that will soon pass, and will do little to affect the strong bonds between the two nations.
