Abu Dhabi: The Emirati-Egyptian Mobile Hospital launched its humanitarian medical mission on Sunday at Abu Hamad village in the Sharqia (Eastern) Governorate.
The humanitarian service was launched in coordination with the Egyptian ministries of health and youth and the UAE Embassy in Egypt.
Dr Husam Abu Salti, Under-Secretary of Ministry of Health, thanked the UAE for its humanitarian medical mission to treat underprivileged patients.
“Egyptian health facilities will provide the hospital with volunteer medical professionals, including those specialised in cardiac and paediatric medicines,” he said.
Mohammad Al Abdouli, member of the team of Zayed Giving Convoys, said nearly 1,000 children and elderly people were treated on the first day of the hospital opening its doors.
“The hospital will continue to receive thousands of needy patients,” he said.
He noted that most patients treated on the first day were suffering from chronic diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and chest diseases.
