Abu Dhabi: Hundreds of joyous schoolchildren today celebrated the UAE’s 43rd National Day along with education officials, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) announced in a statement sent today (November 30).

The festivities included folklore performances, traditional dances and songs and a fair that displayed Emirati handicrafts. In addition, a number of paintings on UAE heritage were on display, while Emirati food was served.

The celebrations were attended by Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, Adec director-general, as well as other educators.

All public and private schools in the emirate have also been celebrating the National Day since November 23 with activities and displays that highlight the UAE’s rich heritage. These will continue until December 1.
