New office to monitor media ethics to be set up in Bahrain
Dubai: An office to monitor the compliance of Middle East media organizations to the new ethics initiative launched by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) will be set up in Bahrain, the head of the IFJ announced on Sunday.
Aiden White, the General Secretary of the IFJ, announced in Dubai on Sunday that a monitoring body would be established to ensure that media outlets abided by the rules of an ethics initiative expected to be launched by the world body on Monday, which will cover the Middle East and North Africa region and Pakistan.
"This office will be dedicated to organizing seminars in the field of the [ethics initiative]," said White.
