Gulf News Fun Drive kicks off

Dubai: The Gulf News fun drive will kick off on Friday morning, at the new Rugby 7s ground on the Dubai-Al Ain road.

Check-in for participants is 6am and flag-off is at 7am.

After a sandy drive over the dunes, the first cars will arrive at the Hatta Fort Hotel at 1.30pm, with the last cars coming in by 3.30pm.

Gulf News, organisers of the fun drive, is urging participants to stick their numbers on the vehicle prior to check-in. Disclaimers should also be kept prior to check-in - correct mobile phone numbers should be provided in the disclaimer.

If participants become stuck in the sand, do not panic. Switch off the engine and raise the bonnet of your vehicle. In case of emergency, call the main control, quote your fun drive number and the page and box number from the route notes.

Seat belts are a must, not only for you, but also for your passengers whose safety is your responsibility.

Participants are also reminded not to litter and to respect the environment.
