Dubai: The One Breakfast Show continue to dominate the airwaves in the UAE with Radio 1 still at the number one spot in the Northern Emirates and Abu Dhabi according to the latest Ipsos Radiometry results released this month.
Ipsos is a global market research company that specialises in media, advertising, and public affairs market research.
Radio 1, known as the ‘Number One For Hit Music' on 104.1 FM in the Northern Emirates and 100.5 FM in Abu Dhabi, has not only retained its position as the number one radio station in Abu Dhabi but also garnered the top rating for an English station for Hit Music among those in the 15-34 age group.
The One Breakfast Show, which airs weekdays from 6am to 10am, is now officially the number 1 English-speaking breakfast show in the UAE. The show is hosted by the trio of Danny Cee, Surina Kelly, and Florian ‘Flo' Mandet.
Rewarding experience
"There isn't any better way to reward us than listeners phoning up and simply saying ‘We love your show', so imagine how it feels when you know we are the most popular one!" Flo Mandet said.
Commenting on their recent feat, disc jockey Danny Cee said: "I think I deserve some kind of reward for sitting in a studio with Surina and Flo — but seriously, I love the listeners in this region — it's a unique market and a pleasure for us to wake up with you — with or without morning breath."
Surina Kelly, for her part, said: "It's weird and wonderful at the same time, because we're just friends getting together having a laugh, and we get to meet and talk to some amazing people everyday. So this means people must be having a laugh with us too and we're not on our own — and that's awesome."
John Hipper, head of Radio 1, congratulated Danny, Surina, and Flo and commented that teamwork catapulted the show to its number one position now.
