Dubai: The impact of the January 25 revolution in Egypt on the country's media landscape will be examined by an elite panel of industry experts at the tenth edition of the Arab Media Forum.

Titled ‘Egyptian Media Post January 25 ', the session seeks to compare the status of the Egyptian media before and after the historical people's revolution.

It will outline the challenges faced by professionals in the sector during the turmoil, as well as the consequential redefined role of the Egyptian media industry.

Some of the uprising's outcomes including the enhanced freedom of expression for the Egyptian media and its consequent transformation into a model similar to the Lebanese media will also be discussed.

Media representatives

It will be moderated by Mohammad Krichen, an anchor at Al Jazeera. The panellists at the session will include Wael Kandil, managing editor, Al Shorouk newspaper, Mona Al Shazly, anchor at Dream TV, Magdy Al Galad, editor-in-chief at Al Masry Al Youm newspaper, Hamdy Kandil, an Egyptian media personality, and Belal Fadl, screenplay writer from Egypt.

The Arab Media Forum will take place from May 17-18, 2011 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.
