Dubai: The second edition of the Emirati Media Forum will be held on November 26, the Dubai Press Club (DPC) has announced.

The one-day event, which has been organised by DPC, will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and aspires to establish an innovative dialogue platform focusing on the significant role of local media as an active partner in achieving the ambitious vision of the UAE.

Mona Al Merri, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office and chairman of Dubai Press Club, said: “EMF will continue delivering its message by presenting and discussing the most important issues in the UAE media.”

She added that the forum will continue with its objectives towards achieving positive interaction between UAE media organisations, in addition to its role as an interactive platform that promotes constructive dialogue among local media communities.

“EMF’s second edition will attract attention to the most important challenges hindering local media and the best methods to overcome them. Moreover, the forum will explore new opportunities that shall help in improving UAE media sector to keep pace with other sectors in the country,” Mona said.

Muna Bu Samra, Director of Dubai Press Club, said that EMF’s second edition completes DPC’s commitment to support local media and boost DPC’s position as a prime player in the media development scene.

“We hope to introduce an out-of-the-box think-tank that examines the core of UAE media to locate its strengths and weaknesses.”

Muna also called on media students and media organisations to participate in the forum to examine the reality of the UAE media and the challenges that the media community goes through, in addition to its role in enriching networking among local media.
