Dubai: The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is hosting a special workshop for 20 young and upcoming journalists. A panel of international film journalists and critics, moderated by Alaa Karkouti, editor of Good News Group, will offer the participants a unique media opportunity. Shivani Pandya, DIFF's Managing Director, said: "DIFF recognises the key role the media plays within the film industry and launched the DIFF Young Journalist Award this year in order to encourage students to explore this aspect of journalism as a possible career". Students from 24 schools were invited to submit a 200-word review of a film of their choice. The winner will be announced during this year's festival.
Airport Expo brings in Noddy
Dubai: The Airport Expo will play host to the Noddy and the Treasure Map show, the final day of which is today. The larger than life cartoon character show has been scheduled as part of the Eid in Dubai events, organised by the Dubai Shopping Festival office, to mark Eid Al Adha this year.According to the organisers, the show has attraced a large crowd.
