Arab Media Forum gets underway Tuesday

Dubai Starting Tuesday, the 11th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF), held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will focus on the latest developments in the Arab media landscape.

The region's largest media gathering will host 70 media experts and professionals from various sectors and academic backgrounds to highlight key issues and suggest solutions. The event is organised by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) under the theme ‘Arab Media: Exposure and Transition'.

Mariam Bin Fahd, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said, "While preparing the agenda for AMF 2012, we have relied upon the outcomes of the fourth Arab Media Outlook report 2011-2015, which is also titled ‘Arab Media: Exposure and Transition'."

The report monitors developments in the media landscape across the Arab region and forecasts growth over the next five years in 17 Arab countries.

The Forum will conclude with the announcement of winners for the Arab Journalism Awards.

A special ceremony will honour the recipients across 12 categories amidst a distinguished audience of top government officials and media luminaries.
