Dubai: Owners of luxury and unique cars are invited to join the first Dubai Grand Parade on November 8 during the Dubai Motor Festival.
To be held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the grand parade aims to showcase the largest convoy of super, luxury, classic and exotic vehicles in Dubai. The five-day Dubai Motor Festival will begin on November 5 to reaffirm Dubai’s position as the motoring capital of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
“The inaugural Dubai Motor Festival will see the city come together in a unique celebration of everything that’s motoring and further help position Dubai as the destination of choice for motor enthusiasts in the region,” Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Festival and Retail Establishment, said.
“Car fans and motoring aficionados can take part, follow, and watch what promises to be one of the most diverse collection of luxury and super Cars as they cruise through Dubai,” she added.
Throughout the grand parade, every individual with a special car or collection of automobiles will have the opportunity to drive together with like-minded individuals and create a festive ambience that can be shared by residents and visitors alike.
Car and bike clubs have lauded the initiative with the Ferrari Owner’s Club UAE and the UAE Aston Martin Owner’s Club pledging full support.
“We are delighted with a prestigious car parade right here in Dubai that unites the grandest and most celebrated auto marques in the world. A parade of such spectacular scale will truly be the pinnacle of motoring fantasy, creativity and excellence,” said Fred Kamperman, President of the Ferrari Owners Club UAE.
David Mc Dowall, Technical Adviser at Aston Martin-Dubai, said the emirate is home to a large number of luxury motoring enthusiasts who are all set to be a part of the momentous event.
The Roads and Transport Authority and the Dubai Police said they will fully support the Dubai Grand Parade to provide smooth flow of traffic in the emirate. Details about the route and timings of the parade are yet to be released. Registration is open until October 20.
