Dubai: As Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) closes on Saturday, event organisers assured the public that they will continue to spread cheer and festivity in the emirate this summer with Modhesh World that will remain open until August 25.
The month-long festival, which began on June 14, saw hundreds of thousands of visitors in Dubai lured by stage shows, roaming jugglers, clowns, acrobats, carnival parades, not to mention the numerous mall-wide discounts and special offers.
Modhesh World, the largest edutainment indoor theme park in the region, welcomed more than 100,000 visitors in its first two weeks of operation. And due to popular demand, Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) decided to keep Modhesh World open through the holy month of Ramadan for the Ramadhan in Dubai festival and the Eid in Dubai festival during Eid Al Fitr.
“Modhesh World will continue to be the ultimate family destination during Ramadan and Eid, offering themed activities designed to suit the spiritual nature and values of the holy month and the joy of Eid,” Ebrahim Saleh, Festivals Coordinator General and Deputy CEO of DEPE, said.
Saleh thanked DEPE’s strategic partners for their contribution to the success of DSS 2012. For Modhesh World, which will run for a month more, event organisers expressed their gratitude to public and private entities that rallied to support the theme park’s activities including the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Dolphinarium, Al Ain Dairy and Panasonic.
“Year after year, Modhesh World enjoys dedicated and active support from various sponsors. Our partnering government entities and consumer brands support the theme park not only by adding to the entertainment offerings, but also by giving visitors additional incentives to visit Modhesh World,” Suhaila Ghubash, Director at Events and Festivals Marketing Services, DEPE, said.
For a glimpse of Emirati culture, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, has opened the Heritage Zone at Modhesh World to serve this purpose.
Meanwhile, Dubai Dolphinarium, which has gained popularity for giving visitors an opportunity to meet some of the most beautiful animals in the ocean, will be closed from July 15 but will re-open on August 17, with special Eid shows running from August 19 to 21.
