Dubai: Brand Dubai, a subsidiary of the Government of Dubai Media Office has tied up with Dubai-based holding company Meraas to organise the first session of Dubai Canvas Festival expected to kick off at THE BEACH opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) from March 1-7.

The event will witness participation from elite local and international artists.

Brand Dubai has chosen THE BEACH for the global event since the location is a major attraction and has superb waterfront in addition to modern public facilities and services. The first of its kind event in the UAE will offer visitors a chance to enjoy an open art gallery and get a rare opportunity to meet the world’s best 3D artists.

Fahad Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Meraas said: “We are glad to work with the Government of Dubai Media Office through its innovation arm, Brand Dubai. We have followed similar ethos when designing THE BEACH, which has today become one of Dubai’s major attractions welcoming thousands of visitors every day.”

DGMO’s Director of Communications and Innovation Noora Al Abbar said: “Dubai Canvas celebrates innovation and introduces a new artistic school that has not been explored regionally on such level. It is a qualitative addition to Dubai’s cultural agenda and also reflects the emirate’s unique characteristics.”

In addition to exhibiting 3D works for renowned artists, Dubai Canvas Festival offers a variety of events including specialised workshops, lecture by founding father of 3D pavement art Kurt Wenner and a kids-dedicated corner.

The festival is open for visitors from 4PM-10PM on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends.
