Dh100 million project to develop new roads, services, and residential areas will be completed in 18 months

Al Ain: The civic administration has on Monday announced the launch of a Dh100 million project to develop new roads, services, and residential areas in different parts of the Oasis city.

The project has been divided into two phases including the design and its execution to complete in 18 months, said an official of Al Ain Municipality. The project, he said, is in line with the authorities’ vision of developing the city on modern lines.

Engineer Ahmad Al Daheri, project manager at the municipality, said the project is one of the many others that have recently been completed or in progress. The first phase of the project has been scheduled to complete in last quarter of this year and then come its actual execution.

He said a number of facilities such as water and sewerage system, electricity and road networks, and other necessary infrastructure will be built with the cooperation of Abu Dhabi Sewerage and Al Ain Distribution Company. The project also includes development of rain water derange system, pavements, communication lines, street lights, and car parking lots.

Work will also include development and improvement of services in South Zakhar, Zakhar Umm Al Qatta, Al Shaibiya, Al Aqabia, Al Saad, Al Markhania, Jaz Al Wareqa, and Al Wagan districts.
