Dubai: For one lucky group of employees, a regular off-site meeting became an impromptu meet-and-greet with His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammad tweeted the story of his surprise visit at around 3pm yesterday through social networking website Twitter.

With his Twitter handle, @HHShkMohd, he shared pictures of the meeting, which occurred under the shade of a ghaf tree in the desert. He wrote: “I was surprised by a group of employees brainstorming while on a morning desert safari with my daughter, Al Jalila.”

In another tweet, he said: “They are from a Chinese company. We spent a good time chatting about their experience in the UAE.”

The tweets received thousands of retweets and thousands marked it ‘favourite’ at the time of going to print.

Shaikh Mohammad’s Twitter followers were happy to see the leader share stories of his interaction with residents.

Emirati Ali Al Za’abi, a Twitter user, wrote: “These scenes show his humility... towards people.”

Anirudha Lamaye, an Indian expatriate, tweeted: “It is inspiring to see the hard work and vision you display for your country. Best wishes!”

Shaikh Mohammad currently has 2.3 million followers on Twitter.
