Abu Dhabi: The journey of the veil is being unveiled through the lens of well-known photographer Roger Moukarzel.
'Le Voile, the Journey of the Veil' — photography exhibition by Lebanese lensman Moukarzel — will run from December 12 to 25 at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
“I've come to Abu Dhabi seeking cultural diversity, one that is unified by the veil. My experience in the UAE completes my research on the veil with all its significances,'' said Moukarzel, who began his career at a young age and worked as a photojournalist for several years.
The exhibition is hosted under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
“We are reminded on this occasion that Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates under the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan are moving forward to becoming major centers of culture and arts in the region and the world. This exhibition is built on the belief that more people across national and religious boundaries understand each other's customs and traditions, the more we are able to rethink our ideas and attitudes about global fellowship and the closer we will all get to world peace and understanding,'' said Al Nahyan.
