Amman

A UAE medical team has arrived in the Jordanian capital to launch the Humanitarian Mobile Hospital for providing curative, surgical and preventive services to displaced Syrians living in makeshift camps.

The initiative is launched jointly by UAE Red Crescent and its Jordanian counterpart and will be supervised by the UAE embassy in Jordan.

The unique humanitarian effort aims to alleviate the sufferings of all segments, especially children and the elderly, who have fled their homes in the wake of the crisis in Syria.

UAE Ambassador in Amman Dr Abdul Nasser Sultan Al Amiri said that several Emirati humanitarian and charitable organisations are on the ground implementing various humanitarian projects to help displaced Syrians as per the directives of the wise leadership of UAE.

He also praised the Jordanian authorities for cooperating with the Emirati charitable institutions in providing relief to the refugees.
