Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince on Wednesday discussed the effects of the environment and renewable energy with heads of states here to attend the World Future Energy Summit.

General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday held talks with Greek President Karolos Papoulias on mechanisms of boosting cooperation in alternative energy and conservation of the natural resources between the two friendly countries.

Shaikh Mohammad reaffirmed the UAE's sincere desire to push bilateral relations to new heights in line with aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Mohammad welcomed President Mohammad Nasheed of the Maldives.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi lauded measures being made by the Maldives to reduce carbon emissions.

The meeting also discussed a host of issues related to the climate change. The talks also touched upon ways of boosting joint cooperation in various domains.

Shaikh Mohammad also met Ed Miliband, British Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.

Shaikh Mohammad and his British guest reviewed topics relevant to clean energy and climate change.

The presidents of Greece and Maldives and the British minister are in Abu Dhabi to attend the on-session third World Future Energy Summit.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, and a number of senior officials.
