Dubai: An Iraqi trader who forgot 10 kilogrammes of gold at the Dubai International Airport, Terminal Two, while leaving for home on Tuesday, has retrieved his gold from Brig Omar Al Attar, Deputy Director of the General Department of Airport Security.

The trader was carrying 300 kilogrammes of gold, but forgot 10 kilogrammes behind. The gold is worth Dh500,000.

The airport police discovered the gold apparently forgotten by a traveller along with his passport copy.

They immediately contacted the trader using information on his passport copy before the plane took off. As a result, the trader was able to retrieve his gold.

Al Attar lauded the role of police and their keenness to help owners retrieve their lost properties, especially at the airport.
