Dubai Ports wins Middle East honour again
Dubai - Dubai Ports Authority recently won the Best Seaport Award in the Middle East for the 11th consecutive year at the Asia Freight and Supply Chain Industry Awards 2005. Dubai Ports came ahead of Port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Salalah Port in Oman. The award, in its 19th year, was instituted by Cargonews Asia, Asia's leading freight and logistics fortnightly publication.

Dubai company gets prestigious award
Dubai - Dubai-based Tonic Communications has won an award at The One Show in New York for excellence in advertising. Tonic is the first agency in the Middle East to win the prize, a gold pencil, at the event. The show, conducted by The One Club, a non-profit organisation, is one of the most prestigious advertising competitions in the world, and in 2005 it received a record 17,000 entries.

Bates PanGulf conducts workshop
Dubai - Bates PanGulf Group, a Dubai-based public relations company, conducted a two-day workshop for senior managers. Conducted by Andy Eklund, managing director of the Burson-Marsteller University, part of the Y&R network, it was attended by the group's senior managers from Dubai, Kuwait, Jeddah and Baghdad. The 27 participants are responsible for client relationship in BPG Advertising, BPG PR, Healthworld PanGulf, Premiere PanGulf, PanGulf Media and 141 PanGulf.

Two Karama buildings sold for Dh5.2m
Dubai - Two buildings in Karama were sold for Dh5.2 million in an auction held at Department of Lands and Properties. Each building consists of three flats, in which the two buildings are located in a 2,275-square-foot space. The auction started with building No.620 which was worth Dh1.6 million was sold for Dh2.6 million. The second building No.625 worth Dh1.6 million changed hands for Dh2.6 million.

Company is key sponsor of IEFE
Dubai - Royal Dutch/Shell Group (Shell) has continued its support to entrepreneurs in the Middle East region by being one of the key sponsors of 'Entrepreneurs in Dubai', the International Entrepreneurship Forum and Exhibition (IEFE), which will be the world's largest gathering of entrepreneurs and business leaders. The event will be held from May 23 to 25 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. It will host more than 30 world renowned speakers.

Cargo Village voted region's best facility
Dubai - Dubai Cargo Village has been voted the best cargo facility in the Middle East for the 12th consecutive year. The Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards 2005 is the only Asian freight awards which is decided by customers and not a panel of judges. "This award has been given on the basis of customer preference and hence it is a reconfirmation of our efforts in providing the best for our customers," said Ali Khalfan Al Jallaf of DCV.
