Sharjah: Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday met with Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) officials at the UICC headquarters in Geneva to discuss various means of collaboration in the fight against cancer.

Proposal to make Sharjah the location of Middle East’s first UICC office
Shaikha Jawaher attended the event in her capacity as founder and royal patron of the UAE Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) charity, which has been a UICC member since 2010. During the meeting, Shaikha Jawaher proposed Sharjah as the location of Middle East’s first regional UICC branch.
“The meeting in Geneva serves to emphasise the continuous forward motion of the UAE’s cancer awareness campaigns with FoCP aim focus is to help promote cancer awareness in the UAE and, with the help of the UICC, this goal is becoming increasingly plausible,” Shaikha Jawaher said.
