Dubai: The schedule for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh to the UAE, has been announced.

The Queen accepted an invitation from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier in the year.

She will also be accompanied by Prince Andrew and Foreign Secretary William Hague, Gulf News has learned. The schedule will include a visit to the Shaikh Zayed mosque, and the Shaikh Zayed National Museum. After arriving on Wednesday 24 November, the Royal party will depart for Oman.

Below is an outline of the programme for the State Visit to the United Arab Emirates and Oman, as announced by Buckingham Palace:

Wednesday 24 November

Afternoon

The Duke of York (Prince Andrew) flies in to Abu Dhabi Airport.
 
Evening
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces will attend a dinner with Prince Andrew. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh fly in to Abu Dhabi Airport. The Royal party will then visit the Shaikh Zayed Mosque.

Thursday 25 November
Morning
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai will meet the Queen.
She will visit the unveiling design for the Shaikh Zayed National Museum and meet Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She will then attend a Partnership event hosted by the British Community and British Embassy.

Afternoon
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duke of York will be officially welcomed at the Al Mushrif Palace. Presentation of delegations and Emirati Royals. Shaikh Khalifa will host the British royal party for lunch, along with other members of the ruling family.
The Queen will pay a private visit to Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak at the Sea Palace. The Duke of Edinburgh will see a UAE military event.

Evening
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh depart Abu Dhabi for Muscat, Oman.

Friday 26 November
Afternoon – Arrival at the Gates to Old Muscat for the formal arrival ceremony. Welcome coffee ceremony at Al Alam Palace. Opening of Tate Exhibition at Al Alam Palace.

Saturday 27 November
Morning
Community event at British Ambassador’s Residence

Afternoon
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh watch Royal Cavalry Horse Show.

Sunday 28 November
Morning
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh leave Oman for the United Kingdom.
