Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has updated its Strategic Plan 2014-2018 to bring goals in line with Dubai Government initiatives and targets.

The RTA’s Strategic Planning Supreme Committee recently endorsed the revised plan, under the chairmanship of Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the RTA.

He said revising the RTA’s strategic goals is consistent with directives of the Dubai leadership “to transform Dubai into a Smart City where human beings become the core objective of development”.

“Such a drive can be achieved through providing services and performing at rates that surpass expectations of the targeted communities in order to bring more happiness to the people.

“In this regard the revised Strategic Plan of the RTA has been aligned with the deliverables of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2010,” said Al Tayer.

The Strategic Goals have been split into three “core drivers”. The first driver is the community, the second is transport systems and the third is internal efficiency.

All drivers are further subdivided into more goals, with the overall idea being to enhance service to customers and the wider community, work closely with stakeholders and partners, and boost internal efficiency and financial sustainability.
