Ras Al Khaimah: The Higher Organising Committee of the RAK Half Marathon announced on Tuesay that Ras Al Khaimah is ready to host the event on February 19.
Colonel Nasser Salem Muraddad, who heads the committee said that the RAK Half Marathon is organised under the patronage of Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who has ensured the event is successful.
He said that a total of 2,700 athletes will participate in the event that is expected to attract international attention.
He stressed that all the emirate's local and federal departments have extended the necessary help in preparing for the event which is planned to put Ras Al Khaimah on the region's and world's sports map.
