Dubai: Police rescued an Italian family who got lost in a deserted area of Al Aweer.

Dubai Police's Air Wing Department carried out an urgent ground search operation for the family. Dubai Police's Command and Control Room received a call from the family that they had lost their way in a deserted area and could not find the main road.

The father said he could not find anybody who could help them.

A Dubai Police Air wing helicopter arrived in the area and scanned it looking for the family. The pilots were able to find them by calling them on their international mobile number to locate them.

The helicopter landed in the same area and towed the family car.

The air operation was carried out by Captain Ahmad Al Shehi and Captain Ahmad Al Merri.
