Abu Dhabi: Placido Domingo, the world-renowned tenor, will be performing at Al Khatim, between Al Ain and Abu Dhabi on February 26, according to organisers.

Domingo will be performing in the UAE as part of the upcoming Education Without Borders (EWB) conference to be held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi from February 25 till 27.

Domingo's performance will be the main cultural event during the conference. He will be accompanied by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, and joined by world-renowned soprano Kallen Esperian and conductor Eugene Kohn.

The member of the Three Tenors will perform on the second day of the conference at a specially created desert village in Al Khatim.

Nobel Prize winner

Over 1,000 students from over 100 countries are expected to attend this year's EWB conference.

Students of the Higher Colleges of Technology have organised the conference, held under the patronage of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will attend and deliver the keynote speech at the opening of the conference.

The EWB conference will host a number of guests including the 2006 Nobel Prize winner Professor Mohammad Younus.
