Dubai: Despite its grand opening, problems are persisting at Dubai's newest aqua-hotel, Atlantis on The Palm Jumeirah.
Gulf News has received several complaints that the hotel's restaurants are not taking bookings for Dubai residents.
Managing Director Alan Leibman said, "We haven't changed the restaurant booking policy, but we're running at such high occupancy and we want to make sure we're taking care of the hotel guests. We have a very high guest count.
"When you have independent travellers, they all want to dine in different restaurants. Dubai residents are very important to us, but for the next month it will be busy with occupancy," he said.
The hotel's restaurants include four run by celebrity chefs, including Nobu and Ossiano, and the official website is still advertising restaurant booking.
Parking problems
On October 3 some 200 people had their holiday plans ruined after being turned away from the resort.
Leibman also advised visitors to the Aquaventure water theme park to take a taxi, rather than try to park on-site.
"We're running very full in the water park, the Lost Chambers and the hotel has been running at maximum capacity, so yes there were delays trying to get onto the resort," he said.
"It's an iconic property - when the attraction is full, then it's full and we can't allow more people on when that's taking place. It's easier for us to assist if people use taxis to get onto the resort. When the attractions get full, then the parking gets full, but we do recognise that it's extraordinarily busy," Leibman said.
