Abu Dhabi Residents who want to volunteer helping underprivileged children in rural Nepal or in Africa or elsewhere in the world but do not know how to go about it may now do so through a new programme called ‘Dunia Touch.'
Dunia Finance LLC (dunia), an Abu Dhabi-based financial services company, has launched Dunia Touch to provide students and professionals with volunteering opportunities around the world.
Whether it's teaching children in Nepal, managing micro-finance grants for HIV/Aids sufferers in Tanzania, or providing medical support in Cambodia, Dunia Touch will help match volunteers to various programmes that will suit their skills and interests.
Unique experience
Besides Nepal, Tanzania and Cambodia, these volunteer programmes will also be carried out in Ecuador and Romania.
"Our Dunia Touch initiative is a powerful way for individuals, students and groups to work in volunteer community internships, gaining unique experiences for personal development, while supporting local communities in the process," Rajeev Kakar, CEO and executive director of Dunia Finance, said.
"Sustainability is key to ensuring we leave a better future as a legacy for the next generation. The focus of Dunia Touch is on helping to solve society's most pressing problems — of health, education, environment and poverty — in order to build a sustainable future," Kakar added.
