Abu Dhabi: Arabic-speaking nature lovers now have one more publication that will keep them updated about the state of the planet, with National Geographic's ‘Al Arabiya Magazine' set to debut in October.

"National Geographic is a very trusted brand that has been built over 122 years. Our foundation is the commitment to getting the relevant stories of our time right by giving our photojournalists and journalists enough time in the field as well as the resources to do so," Chris Johns, Editor in Chief, ‘National Geographic Magazine', said.

The new Arabic publication's coverage will include a variety of topics ranging from geography to science to history to nature and culture. It will be available throughout the Middle East and Africa.

"I've had an opportunity to see up close how National Geographic puts their issues together and to see just how high a standard of quality they use… one challenge that we face in National Geographic Al Arabiya is how to translate their English issues in a way that will appeal to everyone without sacrificing the quality of the publication, which I believe we have managed to achieve," Mohammad Al Hammadi, Editor in Chief, National Geographic Al Arabiya, said.

"This milestone is also a tribute to Abu Dhabi and the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for putting forward a plan that enhances the capital's cultural image while still retaining it's connection to nature and our heritage, which embodies Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan's vision for the UAE and Abu Dhabi," he added.
