Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, yesterday inaugurated the Emirates Centre for Autism.

The inauguration coincided with the World Autism Day.

As he toured the various sections of the centre, Shaikh Nahyan praised the efforts being exerted by the authorities to help sufferers of autism, which is now considered a serious education and health issue.

The centre will organise various activities including an exhibition, music shows and films to spread awareness about autism, between April 9 and 12 at Abu Dhabi Mall.
