DUBAI: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai yesterday visited Cityscape Global and Gitex Shopper at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Gitex Shopper be held twice a year

Shaikh Mohammad has ordered that Gitex Shopper be held twice a year to meet the growing needs of shoppers and keep them updated with the latest electronic devices.
The Vice-President toured both events, stopping by several major stands, and was briefed on projects by leading local, Arab and international companies.

At Cityscape, Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on the Parks of the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid project at Meydan’s stand, and other major projects. He was accompanied by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, who opened the 11th edition of the region’s biggest property event. 

Leading developers announced new projects worth several billion dirhams at Cityscape yesterday. Real estate giants Al Futtaim Group and Emaar announced plans to enter into a Dh3 billion joint venture to develop ‘Cairo Gate’, a lifestyle and entertainment development on the Cairo-Alexandria desert highway.

Emaar also announced its $2.1 billion (Dh7.71 billion) “Emaar Square” in Cairo, a 250,000 square metre  “city within a city” development in its Uptown Cairo project.
Meydan City Corporation, which has invested Dh10 billion in developing the Meydan racecourse district, has secured additional investment commitment to the tune of Dh15 billion, a senior official said.
