Sharjah: Four people, including a baby and pregnant woman, were injured after a motorist reversed his car into them on Thursday in Sharjah, police said.
A Filipino couple, their nine-month-old child, and a pregnant Pakistani were hospitalised after an Arab motorist reversed out of the parking at a mother-and-child health centre in Al Fisht area.
The driver has reportedly admitted negligence and has been arrested, police told Gulf News.
The incident occurred at around 12pm.
The victims were rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital with minor to moderate injuries – the Pakistani woman was later transferred to another hospital.
“I urge motorists to pay attention to the rules and be alert when driving, especially when reversing. Pedestrians too should follow safety rules and pay attention to traffic around them,” said Abdul Rahman Khader, director of Sharjah traffic police’s media and public relations department.
