Abu Dhabi: More than 15,000 visitors are expected to attend the eight successive edition of Najah exhibition this year.

Najah, being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) on October 28-30, will focus on career, training and education opportunities for school-leavers and fresh graduates.

“Job openings will focus mainly on Emiratis this year. There is higher interest from around 20 countries this year. There will also be new exhibitors from Ireland, Spain and Italy,” Khurram Saeed, director of the Najah exhibition, told Gulf News.

Tourism and national service will be the primary focus of the exhibition.

“The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) will be looking for candidates, especially fresh graduates, during the career fair. Additionally, the UAE Armed Forces will participate in this year’s exhibition,” Saeed added. “More choices will be also available to high school pupils and fresh graduates in terms of under-graduate and post-graduate programmes.”

A new feature this year is a partnership to host free onsite assessments to help plan careers.

More than 80 schools are attending the fair, which is held under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Development, and supported by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec).

Around 95 per cent of Najah exhibition floor space was sold two months prior to the event.

Recent findings from US-based strategic advisory firm, the Parthenon Group, put the value of the K-12 education market in the UAE at $1.9 billion with Dubai having the fastest growing enrolment in private international schools of any major city in the world.

Leading local institutions will take part in Najah this year including Abu Dhabi University, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, American University of Sharjah, Masdar Institute, American University in the Emirates, Al Ain University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology and the University of Jazeera among others.

For visitors looking at the career side of the exhibition, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Farmers Services Centre are all first time exhibitors looking to recruit fresh graduates and working professionals.
