A simple mistake can sometimes be the most memorable moment of your life. Such was the case with Ion Gonzaga and his wife Raquel Rivera-Gonzaga.
Having met 18 months ago, Ion and Raquel lived 7,305km apart - Ion in Dubai and Raquel in Manila, the Philippines. They communicated through instant messages on the internet and developed a strong relationship in five months.
Ion said: "We learned to accept each other's past, share the present and plan the future."
During this time, Raquel moved to Dubai.
When it was time to propose, Ion consulted with a friend on the perfect engagement ring. After buying it, he wanted to send a "thank you" message to the friend. However, the message was sent to Raquel by mistake.
Ion said: "It could be the funniest proposal ever! When Raquel showed me the text message on her mobile phone, I almost fainted."
To make up for his mistake, Ion filled Raquel's room with flowers on Valentine's Day. Walking into her room later that day, Raquel was left speechless.
Ion said: "She was smiling and was a bit teary-eyed at the same time."
The Gonzagas have proved that there is no specific formula for love. It is just a matter of finding your soulmate.

Air Pollution?
Yes, it is! Because love is in the air! It is called 'love pollution'. It's good.
Nice one Ion.

Why don't we all learn from Ion? How romantic! This message goes out to all of us, if Ion and Raquel can love each other living far away, why not the others. These days it's all time pass and money and no one has time for long term relationships. But I am sure it will work if you trust each other, so go for it. Who knows you might never get a chance like this. Happy Valentine's Day to all!
