Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, attended the third joint mass wedding of the employees of three government departments in Dubai held on Monday at Zabeel Park.
As many as 58 employees from Dubai Municipality, Dubai Health Authority and Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (DIACA) got married at the ‘Dubai Wedding'.
Organised by the Dubai Municipality, the event was aimed at creating awareness of simple weddings which helps cut back unnecessary expenses and avoid extra burden on couples.
Serving youth
This ceremony comes as part of the country's policy aimed at seeking ways to serve the youth of the nation. It is an accomplishment of the objectives of Dubai Municipality to achieve a progressive society with high standard and comfort of living and to consolidate the bonds of goodwill, solidarity and cooperation in the fabric of society, said Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
