Dubai: An Asian man believed to be in his mid-30s allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a building on Shaikh Zayed Road. His body was found around 3,30pm on Tuesday.
A Dubai Police official confirmed the incident to XPRESS, adding there was no foul play involved.
He also said the police have got the CCTV footage showing the man going up to the roof of the Nassima Tower Hotel and Apartments all by himself.
When contacted by XPRESS, a spokesperson for the tower said the matter was being investigated by the police, and declined to comment further.
An eye-witnesses who saw the body lying in a gory state told XPRESS on Wednesday: “There was blood all over. I could not sleep last night. He must have been a guest or resident of the tower as he was wearing shorts. The police came immediately and cordoned off the area. But today everything looks normal.”
Another eye-witness told XPRESS: “I was trembling when I saw the body. Everybody moved away from the scene. His face was bloody and unrecognisable.”
