Khartoum: The Al Maktoum Foundation signed a contract for the building of 10 water stations in South Darfur and West Kordofan in Sudan at a cost of Dh1 million.

The contract was signed as per the directives of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance.

Mohammad Obaid Bin Ganem, Secretary-General of the Al Maktoum Foundation, said in a statement that the areas chosen have been selected according to the water scarcity, Bin Ganem added that the project will serve more than half a million people, and that these stations are expected to lead to the stabilisation and reconstruction of large areas in the regions.
