Jebel ali sewage plant work on schedule
The Dh1.56 billion project is due for completion in 2010, and will replace the Al Aweer STP, which is currently running at over-capacity.
Dubai: Forty per cent of Dubai's new sewage treatment plant (STP) in Jebel Ali has been completed.
The Dh1.56 billion project is due for completion in 2010, and will replace the Al Aweer STP, which is currently running at over-capacity.
The project covers 670 hectares with the capacity to provide sewage treatment services for 300,000 cubic metres of water per day.
Work on the project was started in April 2007.
Lootah confirmed that 56 per cent will be completed in the first phase, and 37 per cent in the second phase. The project is also linked to many other ongoing projects.
