Irena sets up innovation centre
The IITC will provide Irena with additional capacity and support in delivering its overall work plan
Bonn: The launch of the Innovation and Technology Centre (IITC) of the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) will add further impetus to the success of the Agency, in Abu Dhabi, said Dr Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, President of the First Session of the Assembly of Irena and UAE Special Envoy for Energy and Climate Change.
The IITC will provide Irena with additional capacity and support in delivering its overall work plan.
His comments came at the inauguration of the Irena innovation and technology centre (IITC) in Bonn, Germany, which was attended by Mohammad Bin Da'en Al Hamli, UAE Minister of Energy; Mohammad Ahmad Al Mahmoud, UAE Ambassador to Germany; Dr Guido Westerwelle, Federal German Minister for Foreign Affairs; the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in the Federal Republic of Germany, Norbert Rottgen, and Adnan Amin, Director General of Irena.
