Abu Dhabi: A number of Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police departments recently obtained their ISO certificates, giving their practices the stamp of quality.

During the award ceremony, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said the ministry has adopted a development policy to realise best police practices and applications for internal security and the capital’s police force.

“The project was launched to qualify the ministry for the ISO 9001:2008 certification according to a three-year plan,” he said, stressing the ministry’s commitment to achieve continuous improvement.

Major General Al Nuaimi distributed the certificate to a number of departments under the ministry and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

The ceremony was held at the Forensic Evidence Department’s hall at Abu Dhabi Police.

The official congratulated the teams that received the ISO certificate and called on them to continue to seek quality in their work.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr Saeed Mattar Al Suraidi, Head of Quality Department at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, also extended his congratulations to the teams.

“The work teams were qualified and trained to document operations and procedures in accordance with international standards in order to achieve the highest level of performance and development within work systems.

“This reflects the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Interior to ensure quality through an ambitious plan that was executed over the course of three years,” Dr Al Suraidi said.

Following the speech, the sponsor of the event, accompanied by Dr Al Suraidi, handed the certificates to the teams namely; the Special Security Forces GHQ and seven of its departments; the Police College and six of its departments; the Directorate General of Security Support; the Federal Crime Scene Department; Public Safety and Quick Intervention Department; the Air Wing Department and its Police Follow-up Department; the General Secretariat of the Minister of Interior; the Leadership Development and Creativity Centre; the Law Respect Culture Bureau; the Organisational Structure Department; the Project Management Department; the Complaints and Suggestions Department; and the Quality Department at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development.
