All eyes will be on Mohammed Salem Al Enzy, Qatar's top striker when he appears for his national team against the UAE in today's crucial Group B match of the 2002 World Cup football qualifiers.

Al Enzy, who is popularly called as 'Hatrick-man' in the UAE while playing for Al Wahda in the UAE's First Division, emerged as the club's top scorer in the league apart from helping his club to the FA Cup and League title last season.

Starting off with a hattrick in his very first match for the capital's top club, Al Enzy went on to repeat that feat three more times to be labelled as 'Hattrickman'. Undoubtedly one of the region's top marksman, Al Enzy is feared for his predatory skills inside the box and is very competent both on ground and in the air.

The UAE coach Abdulla Saqr when asked about his comments on the ace striker of Qatar who had scored five goals for his team in the first round including a hat-trick against Malaysia, Saqr said it could also be a boon to UAE.

"Sure Al Enzy has played against all the defenders last season and will have contributed a lot to his coach's plans and tactics. However, his presence in the UAE league could also be utilised against him. Six of his club-mates are in the national squad and we also have enough knowledge of both his strengths and weaknesses," Saqr said yesterday after his team's final training.

Al Enzy, who was really unlucky not to score against Oman in the first match with the woodwork coming to his rival team's rescue, will be going all out to score on his 'adopted home' pitch and put Qatar back in contention. He has all the qualities of a true striker and can be very dangerous even if given half a chance. Al Enzy knows the Al Nahyan Stadium pitch very well.

A lot depends on his form and there is no doubt that Qatar's top marksman will be a marked man today.
